The fryer should be unplugged when not in use and before cleaning. Users should let it cool before removing parts or cleaning it. The manual also warns against operating the fryer with a damaged cord, damaged plug, or after any malfunction.

Only the approved magnetic cord set should be used with this fryer. For the English section, the manual lists Model 189115 magnetic cord set. The manual also states not to use the fryer without oil and not to use an extension cord.

Frying Time and Temperature Chart

The official manual gives the following frying guide:

Chicken strips375°F5–8 minutes
Chicken pieces, bone-in360°F18–20 minutes
Fresh battered fish320°F–340°F8–12 minutes
Frozen French fries375°F5–8 minutes
Fritters375°F2–4 minutes
Onion rings375°F4–5 minutes

These times are only a guide. Actual cooking time may vary depending on food thickness, quantity, and personal preference.

Deep Frying Tips

For better frying results, the manual recommends:

Use enough oil so food is surrounded during frying, but never fill below the MIN mark or above the MAX mark. Avoid adding too much food at once because overcrowding lowers oil temperature and can make food soggy.

For frozen food, remove ice crystals and blot the food dry before frying. Excess water or ice can cause oil splatter or overflow. The manual also recommends defrosting frozen foods for about 20 minutes for a crispier result.

Coated foods, such as breaded or battered foods, work well in the fryer because the coating helps keep the inside moist and the outside crisp.

Recommended Oil Use and Storage

The manual advises using oils with a high smoke point, such as:

  • Blended vegetable oil
  • Pure corn oil
  • Sunflower oil
  • Soybean oil
  • Grapeseed or canola oil

The manual does not recommend seasoned oils, flavored oils, walnut oil, olive oil, lard, or drippings because they have low smoke points. Peanut oil is also not recommended because it can strongly affect flavor.

Do not mix different oils when deep frying.

Replace oil if it shows any of these signs:

  • Excessive smoking at normal temperatures
  • Strong discoloration
  • Rancid smell
  • Excessive foaming around food

The manual also states that oil used for fish or chicken should be used only once. Oil may be filtered with a cooking oil filter or fine-mesh strainer, but the manual says not to refrigerate used oil because chilled oil can splatter during reheating.

Used oil may be stored covered in a cool, dark place for up to three months, but it should be checked before reuse.

Resetting the Overheat Protection Button

If the fryer does not turn on or stops working during use, the overheat protection reset button may need to be reset.

Steps:

  1. Unplug the fryer from the wall outlet.
  2. Let the fryer cool.
  3. Remove oil from inside the fryer.
  4. Use a narrow slotted screwdriver or pen to gently press the recessed reset button on the bottom of the unit.

The reset button is located near the center of the bottom side, as shown in the manual’s Figure 2.

Cleaning and Care Instructions

Before cleaning, turn the control to OFF and unplug the cord from the wall outlet. After that, disconnect the magnetic cord from the fryer.

Important cleaning warnings:

Do not immerse the fryer or cord set in water. Do not permanently attach the magnetic cord to the fryer. Do not insert pins or sharp objects into the magnetic cord holes. Do not use steel wool on the magnetic contacts.

Cleaning steps:

  1. Turn the unit off.
  2. Unplug it and let it cool fully.
  3. Remove the magnetic cord from the fryer socket.
  4. Empty the oil after the fryer cools.
  5. If reusing oil, store it properly.
  6. Wipe excess grease from the fryer interior with paper towels.
  7. Wash the fryer interior and fry basket with hot, soapy water.
  8. Rinse and dry thoroughly.
  9. Do not use scouring pads or abrasive cleaners.
