Set Up and Pairing

The neoStat PRO becomes a programmable smart thermostat when paired with a neoHub. Without the neoHub, the manual notes that the unit works as a non-programmable thermostat.

Pairing the neoHub

To pair the neoHub with the neoApp:

  1. Connect the neoHub to the router using the supplied Ethernet cable.
  2. Connect the neoHub power supply.
  3. Wait for the Link LED to turn red after network connection.
  4. Wait for the Link LED to turn green when connected to the Heatmiser cloud server.
  5. Connect a smartphone or tablet to the same Wi-Fi network.
  6. Download the free Heatmiser neoApp from the Apple App Store or Google Play.
  7. Register an account.
  8. Sign in and select Add Location.
  9. Press the connect button on the neoHub.
  10. Enter a location name, such as Home.

Pairing the neoStat PRO

To pair the thermostat:

  1. In the neoApp, select Add neoStat.
  2. Enter a preset or custom title.
  3. Press Next.
  4. The app gives two minutes to join the thermostat to the neoHub.
  5. On the neoStat PRO, hold the Tick + Up keys until the mesh symbol flashes.
  6. When pairing succeeds, the mesh symbol stays permanently displayed.
  7. The app confirms the connection.
  8. Select Add Another for more zones or Finish to complete setup.

Additional neoStats can be added later from Zones > Edit > Add Zone.

What Is a Mesh Network?

Heatmiser neoStats use a mesh network. This allows thermostats to send and receive signals through other thermostats on the network until the signal reaches the neoHub.

This helps improve:

  • Communication range
  • Network stability
  • Smart thermostat reliability

If the mesh symbol disappears, the thermostat has lost connection to the neoHub.

Approach Sensor

The neoStat PRO uses proximity sensing. When someone approaches the thermostat, the touch keys and backlight light up automatically.

This helps users adjust settings in low-light rooms without needing to press the panel first.

Display Options

Heatmiser neoStat PRO Smart Thermostat Display Options

The neoStat PRO can show either an ambient temperature display or a blank display. During keypad use, the display lights at full brightness, then dims or goes blank after a few seconds.

Display Settings

SettingDisplay Behavior

How to Change Display Options

  1. Hold the Tick key until 01, 02, or 03 appears.
  2. Use Up/Down to select the desired option.
  3. Press Tick to confirm.

Temperature Display

The neoStat PRO can be configured for:

  • Built-in air sensor
  • Floor sensor
  • Air and floor sensor together

When both air and floor sensing are used, room temperature appears by default.

View Floor Temperature

Press and hold the Down arrow + Tick keys for 5 seconds. The floor temperature appears briefly, then the thermostat returns to room temperature display.

Comfort Levels and Programming

Programming is available through the neoApp when the thermostat is paired with a neoHub.

Temperature Control

To adjust the set temperature manually:

  1. Press Up or Down.
  2. The display shows SET and the desired temperature.
  3. Use Up/Down to adjust the set value.
  4. Press Tick to confirm and return to the main display.

When used as a programmable thermostat, this temperature change stays active only until the next programmed comfort level.

Frost Mode

Frost Mode protects the property from low-temperature conditions.

How Frost Mode Works

  • The frost icon appears when enabled.
  • Heating only turns on if the room temperature falls below the frost protection temperature.
  • If heating starts during frost mode, the flame symbol appears.

Enable or Disable Frost Mode

Press Tick. The frost icon toggles on or off each time the key is pressed.

Holiday Mode

Holiday mode is controlled through the neoApp.

In thermostat mode, holiday mode reduces the set temperature to the frost protection temperature. The thermostat maintains that temperature for the holiday period and then returns to the normal program.

Unlocking the neoStat PRO

The lock PIN is set through the app.

Unlock Steps

  1. Press Tick once.
  2. The display shows 00.
  3. Use Up/Down to enter the first two digits.
  4. Press Tick.
  5. Use Up/Down to enter the second two digits.
  6. Press Tick.
  7. The thermostat unlocks and returns to the main screen.

Factory Reset

To reset the device to factory default settings:

  1. Hold all three keys together.
  2. Keep holding until every icon appears on the display.
  3. The reset process restores the thermostat to factory settings.

Optional Settings

Many optional settings are only active or accessible after the thermostat is paired to a neoHub system.

Important note: the manual states that the neoStat PRO must not be used to control electric underfloor heating.

Cooling and Dew Point

Heatmiser neoStat PRO Smart Thermostat Cooling and Dew Point

When used with a neoHub and HC-Switch, the neoStat PRO can be used for underfloor cooling.

In cooling mode:

  • The snowflake icon shows cooling is active.
  • A floor sensor must be fitted.
  • The thermostat uses air, floor, and humidity sensors to calculate dew point.
  • When the floor approaches dew point, cooling stops.
  • This helps prevent condensation on tiled floors.

By default, cooling is disabled. When the system is set to cooling mode while cooling is disabled, dashes appear on the display. Cooling can be enabled from zone settings in the app.

Re-Calibrating the Thermostat

Recalibration changes the temperature offset.

Recalibration Steps

  1. Press and hold Up + Down for 10 seconds.
  2. The Tick key blinks once.
  3. Use Up/Down to change the offset.
  4. Tap Tick to store the value and return to the main display.

To remove a previously stored offset, perform a complete factory reset.

The neoStat PRO supports up to two remote probe connections:

ProbeTypeTerminals
Remote floor sensorNTC Thermistor 10K3A1RT1 and negative
Remote air thimble sensorNTC Thermistor 10K3A1RT2 and negative

The thermostat automatically detects and uses remote probe connections. The manual warns that if a probe connection is incorrect and the device is not paired to a neoHub, a factory reset is required after correcting the wiring.

Wiring Diagram

The official manual includes several wiring diagrams.
